Description

  • Overall, to contribute to the successful implementation of the BCP
  • On a day-to-day basis, to manage selected BCP projects related to agricultural growth and employment in accordance with Danida?s Aid Management Guidelines. This includes:
  • ensuring that appropriate and timely results based and financial monitoring of partnerships and partner activities is taking place;
  • ensuring that appropriate and timely follow-up on partners? obligations, including in relation to activity and financial progress reporting is taking place;
  • assessing and evaluating partner progress reporting (activity and financial) and ensuring that these are disseminated in the appropriate Danida systems;
  • making sure that partnerships are on track (including budget wise) and proactively mitigating situations where the partnership interventions are going off track;
  • proactively ensuring that relevant recommendations from HQ financial monitoring visits, reviews and other quality assurance missions are being followed up satisfactorily;
  • Ensuring that all appropriate documentation as to the above is thoroughly documented, achieved and uploaded in relevant Danida systems.
  • Generally, to widen and deepen the Development Team?s knowledge and resource base in relation to the role of the agricultural sector in relation to inclusive and sustainable development of the economy, including opportunities and challenges in relation to the Danida engagements.
  • Specifically, to widen and deepen the Development Team?s knowledge and resource base in relation to agri-focused private sector development with an emphasis on value chain development and making the markets work better for the poor (M4P)
  • To utilize the enhanced knowledge base to contribute to the Embassy work relating to strategy development, new partnerships and new approaches in relation to the upcoming formulation of the next BCP (2021-2026)
  • To maintain, widen and deepen the network with project partners and stakeholders, including other development partners, government officials, NGO?s, relevant research specialists and others in order to stimulate knowledge generation and support project implementation
  • To keep abreast of the developments in terms of changing Danida strategies and priorities, including in relation to the Danida Aid Management Guidelines
  • To conduct project monitoring and field visits to relevant project activities and participate in various review and quality assurance missions
  • To assist the Embassy in enhancing its efforts to better communicate relevant results of the development cooperation to the wider public, both in Denmark and in Bangladesh

Educational Qualification: Education at university level (Master?s Degree) in development economics, development studies, social/political science or the like

Additional Requirements
  • Extensive experience with agri-focused private sector development/agricultural development with a strong focus on market linkages and value chain development
  • Extensive project management and administration experience from same or similar field
  • Fluency in spoken and written English
  • Team player and strong interpersonal skills
  • Proactive and committed to produce results of high quality
  • Adapts and responds positively to change and is open to new approaches and ideas
  • Promotes ownership and responsibility for the desired outcome
  • A positive attitude and a good sense of humour
Jobs Experience
  • At least 10 years of experience working with development programmes and projects, preferably from another development partner/aid agency

  • You will be offered a two year, full time local employment contract based on the Staff Rules of the Embassy and with the possibility of extension. The position is initially subject to a three months? probation period
