Description

Lead the Business Management team, which is a central function to support front line staff in:
Developing business strategy, capital management, generating sales management information, and facilitating client planning
Managing local product implementation and governance, including credit and lending product and process management
Implementation of strategic and regulatory transformation projects, local compliance representation including conduct oversight, records management and business information risk management
Implementation of and ongoing operational management of Business Financial Crime Risk
Middle Office service provision to customers and front line staff covering end to end on-boarding of customers, Customer Due Diligence support for Relationship Management, and treasury on boarding
Business risk and control monitoring, and project management of consequent issues and actions
Employee performance management, including training, on and off boarding of staff
Data governance process ownership and issue management
Set and review the strategic direction for DAK CMB including influencing the Regional Operating Plan process and facilitating delivery of the Country Strategic Plan, in conjunction with GCMB and Regional CMB
Be responsible for the implementation of critical initiatives in the business e.g. CMB flagship projects in conjunction with GCMB and Regional CMB
Be accountable for the credit quality and financial crime risk quality of CMB portfolios and implementation of stringent risk management practices that are necessary to ensure that these remain within acceptable parameters
Establish and maintain strong relationships with CMB Division Heads, and product partners including GTRF, GLCM, FIG as well as all key global functions and risk stewards
Build a strong internal international network to support the growth of CMB business and achieve the delivery of the local business plan
Comply with all internal and external requirements including identification and management of material risks to the business and all other regulatory requirements
Demonstrate excellent people leadership skills in the development of a professional team to support the overall business objectives
Provide mentoring and facilitate or identify training needs for staff across the business
Track and monitor the performance of front line teams against key metrics
Liaise with and act as a key stakeholder with other areas of the Bank to ensure CMB is considered in all initiatives and strategy
Deputise for the Head of CMB in his/her absence as additional responsibility. This may involve attending ALCO/EXCO or other senior DAK leadership meetings and providing support to other senior members of the CMB team
Act on emerging opportunities building competitive advantage to the business in own area
Maintain and observe all HSBC control standards and implement and observe the Group Compliance Policy, including the timely implementation of recommendations made by internal/external auditors and external regulators
Foster a compliance culture and implement Group Compliance Policy by managing compliance risk in liaison with, Area Compliance
Officer or Local Compliance Officer, ensuring adequate compliance resources are in place and training is provided, optimising relations with regulators
Maintain awareness of operational risk within assigned area and minimise the likelihood of it occurring including its identification, assessment, mitigation and control, loss identification and reporting in accordance with Section 4 of the Group Operations FIM
Protect sensitive customer and bank information by ensuring documents, computers, files, and all confidential matters are appropriately handled as set forth by policy. Be vigilant in driving staff behaviour in an aligned fashion, holding them accountable for any violation of policy.

Educational Qualification: Bachelor degree from a public/private university preferably in Business background.

Additional Requirements

Clear ability to delicately handle and resolve inter/intra departmental issues relating to CMB People management experience, including managing team managers
Strong organisational, analytical, negotiation, communication, teamwork and influencing skills
Understanding of local operating markets and their corresponding span(s) of control within assigned country
Experience of driving strategic change in a matrix environment
Extensive product knowledge of Commercial Banking.
