Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Metal Supervision Engineer to manage metal fabrication and installation activities. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in metal engineering, strong leadership abilities, and a commitment to maintaining the highest quality and safety standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervision and Leadership:

• Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of welders, ensuring safe and effective performance.
• Assign daily tasks, monitor progress, and inspect completed work to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Provide training and guidance on best practices, safety protocols, and new welding techniques.

Quality Assurance:

• Ensure all welding activities adhere to industry standards, WPS, PQR, plant procedures, and quality requirements.
• Conduct inspections of welds, identify defects, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
• Maintain accurate records of welding procedures, inspections, and repairs.

Safety and Compliance:

• Enforce strict compliance with safety protocols, including the correct use of PPE and safe handling of materials.
• Conduct regular safety meetings, toolbox talks, and audits to promote a strong safety culture within the team.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, especially in emissions control and waste management.

Operational Efficiency:

• Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to prioritize welding tasks that support plant efficiency and reliability.
• Manage the scheduling of welding work to minimize downtime and disruptions.
• Oversee the maintenance and calibration of welding equipment, ensuring all tools are in optimal working condition.

Inventory and Resource Management:

• Manage inventory levels of welding materials, tools, and consumables to ensure availability for planned tasks.
• Prepare purchase requisitions and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant field.
• 8-10 years of experience in metal fabrication, welding, or related fields.
• Proficiency in engineering software and tools related to metalwork.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory compliance for welding and fabrication.
