General Manager (Mechanical)

Description

• Overall responsible to lead the mechanical engineering team at project site and be responsible for the mechanical division’s output.
• Analyze and highlight any cost spillage and suggest corrective action to minimize such conditions.
• Optimizing the project cost by minimizing rework in mechanical engineering activities by close monitoring of work in progress.
• Ensure that all mechanical works are being carried out by the Contractor without any deviation from budgeted cost and specified timeline.
• Review the detailed construction planning.
• Review the mechanical engineering design and drawings / documents to site for the purposes of construction to ensure consistency with project documents and all prevalent rules and regulations.
• Discuss and update on review findings, change recommendation etc. to the Project in Charge by interacting with Owner’s engineering team, the Owner’s Engineer (OE) and the EPC construction team.
• Ensure all site mechanical works adhere to the quality and safety standards and be responsible for any deviation.
• Provide technical expertise or intervention as per requirements either with Owner, OE, Consultants and Chinese Design Institute during Execution stage.
• Guide all the mechanical staff and contractors as appropriate with troubleshooting during implementation of the project including any design changes or variations.
• Review the list of deviations in approved construction methodology.
• Carry out regular progress monitoring at site for following parameters viz Plan vs Actual, FQP compliance, Manpower deployment, Equipment deployment.
• Preparing weekly and monthly MIS reports.
• Review the contractor’s progress on a weekly and monthly basis and prepare action plans to ensure scheduled progress.
• Coordinate with Head Electrical, Instrumentation and Civil to address problems/issues of the project effectively.

Discipline:

• Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from a reputed University / Institution.

Experience & Specific Qualification:

• 15 year(s) experience in the relevant field.
• Experience level may be relaxed for outstanding candidates.
