JOB PURPOSE:

Inspect all plant and equipment utilized in the LNG plant (excluding pumps and prime-movers). Ensure engineering integrity and the maintenance in good working order of all such plant and equipment.

Job Specific Accountabilities

• Inspect and assess the condition of LNG Plant and equipment at the required frequency, in accordance with the Company’s code of plant inspection, and compile written reports on his finding and recommendations. Put in repair recommendations to user Divisions.
• Maintain adequate records on the condition of plant and equipment for comparison purpose over extended periods, to provide a reliable basis for a prediction of safe working life, and advise on equipment usage for specified periods.
• Advise and recommend required repairs or replacements to defective plant and equipment and carry out further inspections after repair work to ensure conformity to approved standards and codes.
• Check and approve modifications to plant and equipment in accordance with the Company’s procedures for such work.
• Draw up the work specifications for contracted inspection services and non-destructive testing services and interprets and analyses the results obtained.
• Conduct qualification tests and code Welders for all types of welding.
• Provide Workshops’ inspection service for overhaul of pressure safety valves, pipework fabrication, etc., including hardness testing, crack detection and radiographic examinations as quality control.
• Ensure that safe operating and maintenance procedures related to inspection activities are followed, and counsel employees about compliance with safe working procedures as necessary.
• Keep abreast of new technical methods of inspection, especially in the field of Non-Destructive Testing,
• Demonstrate appropriate levels of knowledge and responsibility regarding Technical and Operational Integrity processes of AIRMS
• Comply with the HSEMS policy and strategy set by the Company aimed at better health, safety and environment achievements.
• Safeguard own Health and Safety, as well as that of the fellow employees, by paying attention to safe work practices, maintaining a safe work environment and complying with applicable HSE requirements.
• Take action to INTERVENE and STOP any un-safe activity or non-compliance with HSE requirements, if witnessed, and report the incident – regardless of your position or that of the transgressor

• Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
• Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective section objectives.

Budgets

• Provide input for preparation of the Department/ Section budgets and assist in the implementation of the approved Budget and work plans to deliver Section objectives.
• Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control.

• Implement approved Department / Section policies, processes, systems, quality standards and procedures in order to support execution of the Department / Section’s work programs in line with Company and International standards.
• Comply with all applicable legislation and legal regulations.

Performance Management

• Contribute to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the Department / Section in line with the Company Performance framework.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement

• Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of  operational processes.
• Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with ISO standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.

Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability

• Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices

Reports

• Provide inputs to prepare Section MIS and progress reports for Company Management

COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

Internal

• Has frequent contact with personnel in Operations and Maintenance Departments for providing information and ensuring that work performed conforms with ADNOC-LNG’s specifications

External

• Liaise with contractors’ representatives to inspect their work and to obtain their services as required

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Minimum Qualification

• Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills

1. Minimum Experience

• 6 years of experience in inspection engineering function in the Oil & Gas refining or Petrochemical industry, including experience in controlling plant inspection records.

2. Knowledge & Skills

• Familiar with the materials and inspection of static equipment and piping
• Good Knowledge of relevant International Codes, Standard and Practices.
• Good analytical and problem solving ability
• Good Knowledge of Corrosion Engineering
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
• Technical Report Writing
• Knowledge of SAP Systems
• Good knowledge of written and spoken English.

Professional Certifications

• API 570
• API 510

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:

• NDT
• Static Equipment Inspection
• Boilers Inspection
