Caritas Bangladesh (CB) is a national and non-profit development organization operating in Bangladesh since 1967. It has its Central Office in Dhaka and eight Regional Offices in Barishal, Chattogram, Dhaka, Dinajpur, Khulna, Mymensingh, Rajshahi and Sylhet. CB is implementing 91 projects covering 201 focusing upazilas on eight goals i.e. i) Social Welfare and Service of Love for Vulnerable Communities; 2) Ecological Conservation, Climate Justice and Sustainable Food System; 3) Humanitarian Response and Disaster Management; 4) Education, Skill Development and Employment Creation; 5) Health Care, Nutrition and Education; 6) Development of Indigenous Peoples; 7) Integral Human Development; and 8) Institutional Development and Sustainability.

CB, Emergency Response Program (ERP) Cox’s Bazar is looking for suitable candidates for immediate appointment as well as to prepare a panel list for “Emergency response to the Rohingya refugee crisis in Bangladesh through provision of shelter, WASH and protection services”.

Further details of the position including job responsibilities, educational qualification, and other competencies/qualifications required for the position are provided below:

Educational Qualification:

• MSC or BSC degree in civil engineering and preferably with a Professional degree related to WASH from any recognized university.

Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years working experience in a similar job in any NGO/INGO. (Women are strongly encouraged to apply)
• Excellent project management skills.
• Team building and team management skills.
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to detect and report inconsistencies.
• Knowledge of local language will be given preference.
• Good command both in English & Bangla.
• Computer skill in both English & Bangla on MS Office.
• Good report-writing and presentation skills.

Job Responsibilities:

• Staff management & administrative tasks like staff supervision, approving transport bills, leaves etc. in coordination with Manager-WASH, HR, Accounts & Admin.
• Coordination among the site-engineer, Field supervisor & community volunteers & MEAL team.
• Liaison with UNO office, CiC & DPHE, Taking approval etc. Liaison with the elected local administration; with the UP chairman & members.
• Submission of purchase requisitions (PRs) & follow-up. Events planning, coordinating & management. Field visits for site selection, construction & hygiene promotion.
• Arranging & coordinating different types of field visits like donor visits, visit by UNO, high officials from DPHE, Caritas BD.
• Development and Submission of different types of reports like IPTT, Trimonthly, Project completion report, reports to WaSH sector of Ukhiya Upazilla, Reports on Day observation, budgetary events etc.
• Coordinating different types of surveys like Household registration, PDM, Baseline survey, GPS collection etc.
• Arranging & participating in different meetings in UNO office, DPHE office, Caritas BD office. Facilitating training & workshops for staffs, community volunteers & participants.
• Coordinating hygiene promotion activity in camps and host community through training, sessions & IEC materials.
• Day observation & collaboration; Global Hand-washing Day, World Water Day, World Toilet Day, National sanitation month celebration etc.
• Coordination with WaSH sector, WHO, other NGOs working in Ukhiya related to WaSH. Response to Caritas BD to implement & to achieve its Rules, Regulations, goals, objectives & motos.
• Documentation & preparation of different types of project related database, reports, photos etc.
