Superintendent, Security-Health Safety& Envi’ment UW – (20000085)
Participate in the development of Security strategies, policies and procedures to ensure a safe and secure work environment. Manages the activities of assigned personnel in the Security Department. Performs supervisory duties and exercises financial authority at the level established by Management for the position. Ensures through investigation of all security incidents and implements security and protection systems and procedures for all projects.
Ensure quality implementation of MWSPC’s Employee Identification Program (I.D’s) and Company Vehicle gate passes with coordination of all site security supervisors. Prepare reports for submission to management, primary investigators and/or managers, which identify the potential hazards and/or program discrepancies, and provide recommendations for control and compliance. Reviews to ensure implementation of established Security programs. Includes studying recommendations of subordinates and developing policies and procedures for the efficient operation of the activities Supervises and develops yearly Security plan to include budgeting for manpower, equipment, material and supplies to ensure efficient operations in line with Company objectives and in compliance with Government requirements.
Represents the MWSPC in meetings with Government authorities: Police, Civil Defence, etc. and investigates all security incidents and violations that take place on Company premises and or affect Company personnel and property Lead the development of MWSPC Security policies and procedures. Communicate the requirement of operational procedures and instructions to subordinates and monitor their adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled manner and ensure the protection of employees and company assets.
Supervises the development and activities of Security and Loss Prevention. Includes ensuring heightened awareness of security issues in the work place and within the community, availability of up-to-date equipment and supplies, well trained Security Staff and Security Offices and existence of a tested and effective incident response plan in cases of emergency. Inspect, audit, monitor and measure the effectiveness of implementation of Security procedures in order to ensure continuous improvement in Security performance and employee safety.
Evaluate new facility design, construction, commissioning and operating plans to identify Security concerns and present recommendations to ensure a safe and secure work environment. Assists Manager HSE&S with the development of annual operating budgets for the Security Department. Collects industry information on Security programs from benchmark companies, government agencies, external security consultants about market practices or best practices from Internet to assist and advice management in developing Security plans and procedures Provides advice to Management on Security and Loss Prevention aspects that should be considered for new facilities and projects Advise department managers on implementation of Security awareness programs Participates in engaging the site in taking ownership of the Security process.
Frequently communicate with line management on observations, findings, recommendations and guidelines to be implemented to support a secure working environment Develop integrated organization and manpower plans to support the accomplishment of HSE&S including the recruitment and training of Security staff. Create a working environment and culture which engages all Security staff. Effectively manage the Security staff and develop future leaders for the Health, Safety, Environment and functions and the Company.
Experience & Qualifications
10+ years of experience in industrial security, preferably in the fertilizer/ mining, oil and gas, chemical industries or similar. At least 5 years should be in a Security management position
Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Economics or Public Relations
