Role Purpose: To work in the field of applied data science, Use machine learning skills in solving business problems, Deliver statistical models and solutions by collaborating heavily with Business Experts from other teams, IT and Data Governors.
Key Activities:
1. Duties:
• Design and develop models using advanced statistical and software development tools.
• Run deployed models.
• Work on SPSS miner or R to deliver any segmentation or predictive models
• Calibrate and adjust of existing models.
• Create visualization dashboards and reports.
• Manage and develop data structures.
• Create and maintain clear documentation on data models as well as transformation/validation rules.
• Serve results to external sources.
2. Behavioral Competencies:
• Understanding of complex algorithms and data structures.
• Expertise in data management and data preparation.
• Interest in Data Science and willingness to learn new tools and solutions.
• Knowledge of Big Data Ecosystem: Hadoop (HDFS, YARN), Spark (PySpark/Scala, MLlib, GraphX), Hive/Presto/Impala.
• Experience in effective visualization techniques and tools (Cognos, Tableau, QlikView, PowerBI).
• Analytical thinking.
• Conform to agile IT development procedures (2-week sprints, daily stand-ups, etc.).
Knowledge / Technical Skills:
• Data Science programming language: SPSS miner, R or Python.
• Knowledge of an object-oriented programming language (C#, F#, Java).
• Knowledge of Mathematical Modeling and Statistics.
• Knowledge of SQL.
• Knowledge of Machine Learning Algorithms.
• Knowledge of Big Data Framework (Hadoop, MapReduce).
• Hadoop programing languages: Spark/Scala/Hive etc.
Qualification
Education / Experience / Certifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field, with a minimum of 7 years’ experience.
• Higher degree (preferred Math, Computer Science, Economics, Physics, Operational Research or related).
