Medical Officer Lead

The Opportunity

The main objective of this role is to guarantee the delivery of high-quality standard Minimum Essential Service Package (MESP) as mandated by the MOHWF and Health Sector at Primary Health Care Centers. The individual in this position is responsible for providing critical medical services, including emergency care, stabilization, and referrals to suitable facilities. They also supervise the delivery of quality healthcare within Health Facilities (HF), ensuring that consultations and treatments adhere to relevant clinical protocols, guidelines, and best practices. It is their duty to ensure accurate completion of patient consultation records and clinic registers according to Save the Children, Health Sector, and MoH requirements. During major humanitarian emergencies, the role holder is expected to work beyond their regular duties and adjust their working hours as needed. Additionally, they play a key role in training new staff and enhancing the skills of existing personnel, as well as monitoring and supervising daily program operations.

Qualifications and Experience

• 05 years of relevant field experience, including 2 years in a management position, preferably in the emergency Health program. Demonstrated track record of working with local counterparts to promote the use of the program.
• Sound knowledge of the Bangladesh health system; experience in working with UN and other stakeholders in both development and emergency settings.
• Proficiency in computerized accounts packages, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage a complex and diverse workload and to work to tight deadlines
• Ability to contribute to a small, proactive team, motivating staff and working collaboratively with colleagues, and providing support and advice as necessary
• Willingness and ability to dramatically change work practices and hours, and work with incoming surge teams, in the event of emergencies
• Written and verbal fluency in English
