Occupational Therapist

Description

Perform physical and psychological assessments of patients with the aim to develop or follow up appropriate treatment plan.
Recommending suitable adaptive equipment to help patients with daily activities
Developing physical rehabilitation programs to help patients regain lost skills.
Preparing patients for a return to work.
Evaluating home and work environments of patients to formulate the required adjustments needed for safe return.
Assessing patient visual function and propose management plan
Evaluating patient’s cognitive function and render appropriate referral plan
Pay needful attention to patient’s mental health
Confer with physicians, patients and their families, nurses, social worker and other members of a patients care team.
Educating caregivers and family members on patient care.
Evaluating results and progress of occupational therapy on patients.
Maintaining professional knowledge and the technical progress in order to provide patients with the best treatment program available.
Keeping up-to-date with advancements in the field by attending conferences, conducting research, and expanding professional and academic networks
Complying with the local institutional and state certification requirements.
Review patients’ medical history and asses their condition and needs
Evaluate patients’ ability to do certain tasks
Confer with physicians, patients and their families, nurses, therapists, social workers, and other members of a patient’s care team
Develop a treatment plan for patients with specific goals and tasks that will help them meet those goals
Guide patients to perform tasks to meet their goals
Demonstrate exercises that can help patients better perform everyday tasks and relieve pain
Evaluate a patient’s home or workplace and identify potential improvements based on their needs
Educate a patient’s family about how to help care for and accommodate them
Recommend and teach patients how to use adaptive equipment that will help them with daily living, such as wheelchairs and eating aids
Assess patients’ progress against goals and prepare reports for healthcare providers and insurance agencies

Educational Qualification:

Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Occupational Therapy

Experience Requirements

At least 2 year(s)
The applicants should have experience in the following area(s):
Occupational Therapy
The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s):
Hospital

Additional Requirements

Both males and females are allowed to apply
Should be proactive and dedicated to patient satisfaction, and able to work under pressure.
Advance Training on Occupational Therapy management in Intensive Care, Musculoskeletal, Neurology, Pediatric conditions and attended in different scientific seminars will get preference.
Proven ability to exercise good communication judgment.
Ability to work effectively and harmoniously with colleagues and/or partners from varied cultures and professional background. Excellent organizational and methodical skills.
Knowledge in developing strategies and report writing skills. Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
