Description

• Based on demand assessment, background review and marketing strategy, strategic guidance will be given to implement new shelters or housing and settlement programs.
• Caritas will provide technical support to plan, implement and monitor the shelters or housing and settlement programs of Bangladesh. Prepare or prepare the necessary plans and IEC materials for shelters or housing and other infrastructures.
• Provide shelter training to families, show necessary topics, and provide technical assistance and advice and supervise them.
• CRS / Caritas will ensure Bangladesh’s representation in the Khatwari Coordination Meetings and make necessary contributions in discussions on overall shelter and settlement response strategies. Where necessary, lead the Khatwari Technical Working Groups or to act as Deputy Leader.
• Caritas will assist Bangladesh in coordinating the programs of specific areas assigned to different sectors, UNCHCR, IOMs, other organizations, and government officials to coordinate.
• To discuss appropriate long-term strategies, the research institutions need to be associated with other organizations.
• Basic Job Relations:
• Tactative: (Those who are able to supervise and if not, it will be “not applicable”)
• Internal: Emergency Coordinator, Program Manager, Country Manager, HRD Technical Advisors, MIL (Technical) Advisors
• External: Caritas Bangladesh Shelter and Settlement Team, Caritas Bangladesh’s Management Team, Sector Coordinators, UNHCR and other UN officials. Besides, other NGOs implementing the Shelter and Settlement Programs can also visit their work.

Educational Qualification: Must have masters degree in architecture or civil engineering

Employment Status: Contractual

Additional Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience working in the Human Sector related work, as well as minimum 3 years of experience in the Shelter and Settlement Program.
• Must have experience working in international funding programs, including coordination, preparation and monitoring of reports.
• Need to have computer education about Microsoft Office, CAD (CAD), PfiP Design Software (Adobe Sweat)
• Personal Skills:
• Ability to work, work independently and play an effective role as a team player or team member.
• Authorized skill to work effectively from limited direct supervision
• Strong project management, review, problem-solving and negotiation skills.
• Excellent English Writing and Communication Skills.
• Required language: Ability to write and speak English and Bangla. At the same time, the importance of having a proficiency in Rohingya language will also be considered seriously.
• Travel: In Cox’s Bazar district and shelter community villages (25-50%) must travel with refugee camps. At the same time, with the request of the authorities, Cox’s Bazar-Dhaka may also have to go and go.
